EXTERIOR CLEANING FOR WILLIAMSBURG AND NEARBY CITIES
Shade and tree cover keep algae and mildew from working on stucco and painted siding all over Newport News. Damp air off the James River feeds it, and the same canopy shading a brick ranch also shades the driveway underneath. Our team at Safari Softwash cleans the whole property, soft washing the roof, siding, deck, and fence, and pressure washing the concrete. Give us a call at (757) 793-1951, whether you’re down in Hilton Village or up in Denbigh, and we’ll take it from there.
We use the same method on a single Jamestown home as we do on an entire community. Soft washing handles anything that stands up, and a pressure pass is only for the hard, flat surfaces that can take it.
Many Jamestown homes are brick, with raised-brick patios and brick walkways, and the townhome blocks along Jamestown Road lean toward sided exteriors. We soft-wash the brick and mortar, and the patios and walkways can take a pressure pass.
The humidity here brings the growth back, so many homeowners have us out once a year, usually around pollen season.
We clean the communities and buildings around Jamestown the same way we clean a house, just scaled up. That covers HOA-managed townhome and condo communities such as Jamestown 1607, along with private clubhouses and amenity buildings. We also handle retirement and 55+ communities, office, medical, and retail buildings, churches, and banks. The work runs top-down: roof, then gutters, then the walls, then the windows, and finally the ground-level hardscape.
We work weekday daytimes, and we pull water from a fire hydrant tie-in under our agreement with the local water department. For medical buildings and banks, we can set up weekend daytime work by arrangement.
On straight-wall buildings, we can clean up to 55 or 60 feet high. Anything taller, or any job that needs us working off the structure instead of from the ground, we talk through with you before we quote it.
Here’s what we do differently from the next company, explained the way we’d explain it to a neighbor.

We soft wash, and we’re not a power washing company, and around Jamestown, that difference lands right on your siding. Soft washing runs low pressure and high volume. A cleaning solution kills the mold and algae, and then we rinse it off gently. Plenty of companies will tell you they soft wash and then blast the house at 3,000 PSI. We don’t own that shortcut. High pressure forces water in behind siding, eats at brick mortar, and chews up stucco, so it has no business on a wall.

We water your plants instead of tarping them, and that’s on purpose. A tarp thrown over a shrub on a hot day turns into a greenhouse and cooks it. The leaves drop a week later, and the homeowner blames the cleaning solution when the tarp did the damage. So we work the Three Ds instead. We divert the runoff where we want it, we dilute everything with water, and we stay honest about what decontamination can and can’t do.

We won’t tie you to a contract or a monthly subscription, and we won’t flood your phone with texts and voicemails. Once you’ve hired us, you get one call a year, around the anniversary of your last service, just to see how things are holding up. Need us again, we’re there. If you don’t, no harm done.

The bold branding fools people into thinking we’re a franchise. We’re not. Under the Safari Softwash name, we’re a local husband-and-wife business, independently owned and not part of a franchise. The people on the trucks are local, and they’re the same ones you’ll see the next time you call.

Big properties are where we’re most comfortable. For an HOA neighborhood, an apartment community, or a retirement community, we provide a written schedule showing exactly which buildings we’re cleaning on which day. We hang the resident notices ourselves, a day ahead, instead of leaving it to the property office. We also time the work around the community’s routine, so nobody’s afternoon at the pool gets ruined.

We’ll tell you when a job isn’t worth paying for. We’ll say a roof is too far gone to clean, or that your gutters aren’t the thing actually causing your problem. You’ll hear that from us before you spend a dollar, not after. We turn down a roof past saving, not clean it anyway.
This is a military town, and we’re a military family ourselves. Every service we do carries a 10% military discount for a fellow military family, on a single job or a whole property.

We back our work with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If something isn't right, call us, and we'll send a team back to your property as soon as we can and fix it.
Here’s how a typical job goes, from the first call to the last rinse.
Reach us by phone, text, email, or the website form. Most of the time we measure the property from satellite images and city assessor records, so there’s no appointment to make. When satellite images don’t show us enough, we fly a drone over the roof and gutters to catch what you can’t. Then an itemized options menu comes to your email, and you pick what you want. We send a reminder before any scheduled visit.
Before we mix any solution, we tape off the power outlets and doorbell cameras, make sure every window is shut, and clear the work area. We also check the paint first. If the house was painted or the deck stained in the last 30 days, we wait. Paint needs time to cure and bond before anything touches it. Some paints carry a synthetic magenta dye that shifts color the moment a cleaning solution touches it. More manufacturers are using it than most homeowners would guess.
We soak the beds and shrubs around the house before applying any cleaning solution. A plant that’s already full of water can’t take up solution at strength, so it’s protected from the first spray onward.
We put the solution on at low pressure and high volume with our soft wash systems. We set the strength based on the siding material and how dirty it is. The cleaner itself is sodium hypochlorite, the same bleach you already know, applied within EPA guidelines. A rapidly biodegradable, low-VOC surfactant does the soap’s work. We let it kill the growth, then rinse at low pressure, and no high pressure ever touches the walls. On Governor’s Land homes, the brick and mortar joints get the same gentle treatment as the rest of the house.
The driveway and other hard, flat surfaces get a real pressure pass from our power washers, which lifts the heavy soiling. We rinse it off, then apply a stronger treatment that soaks in and kills the roots of the growth, so the clean lasts longer. We always rinse that treatment off before we leave, because pets and people walk on these surfaces. Where we can, we run battery-powered equipment instead of gas.
Before we pack up, we rinse every plant and bed one more time. We leave nothing sitting at strength anywhere on the property.

We back our work with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If something isn’t right, call us and we’ll get a team back out to your property as soon as we can and put it right.
We don’t offer cleaning warranties, and we’ll tell you why. With the tree cover and humidity in this area, organic growth comes back. A roof cleaning generally holds three to five years, and siding depends entirely on what’s growing around it. Companies selling you a multi-year no-growth guarantee are writing a check the weather will cash. Instead, we’ll call you once a year to check how things are holding up.
When we clean your gutters, we guarantee the water flows to ground level. We flush the system with water rather than blowing it out, so if there’s a blockage, we find it instead of leaving it for you to discover in the next storm. For anything below ground, we show you and refer you to a plumber.
We work along the James River every week, and this is the ground we cover day in and day out. From the waterfront homes in Governor’s Land to the townhomes and condos along Jamestown Road, we treat every one like it’s on our own street. If you drive Jamestown Road, you already know the places that give the area its shape:
The estimate is free. Most of the time we can measure your property from satellite images without setting foot on it, so there’s no appointment to schedule. Call us at (757) 793-1951, or send a text, an email, or the website form, whichever is easiest. We answer the phone Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and Saturday from 9 AM to noon. Whether you’re out in Governor’s Land or on Jamestown Road, we’d be glad to take a look.
